WYC staff and helpers

Suad Shamsideen - Lead Youth Worker (she/her)

Suad started her journey with WYC in February 2024. She joined with extensive experience within youth work and has hit the ground running. Suad believes in a hands-on approach to being a Youth Worker. She is keen on getting involved, taking part in sessions and being unapologetically herself in order to encourage the youth to embrace their own identities and grow. Suad brings with her a relentlessly positive attitude, high energy and her own unique twist to being a Youth Worker.

Chris Hunt - Sessional Youth Worker (he/him)

Chris is a Wendover lad and has been working with the Youth Centre as a sessional worker since 2018. Chris has a degree in Sports Coaching from Buckinghamshire University and is currently a PE teacher at John Colet. In his spare time, he assists with our Thursday and occasionally Friday youth sessions. He is passionate about sport and is a keen footballer and cricket player. He brings high energy; enthusiasm and the young people enjoy engaging with him.

Shanie Noakes - Sessional Youth Worker (she/her)

Shanie is a qualified primary school teacher who joined the team in 2024, looking for new challenges with an older cohort! Diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, she is particularly interested in supporting neurodivergent young people, or those with additional needs. Outside of the Centre, she enjoys being creative and has recently set up her own children's arts and crafts business, that runs at the Centre on weekends. She is also pretty consistently on the go - either chasing her two rescue dogs through the Chilterns or partaking in aerial sports.

Miranda Frost - Admin (she/her)

As well as being Wendover Youth Centre's Company Secretary, Miranda takes care of all the administrative jobs.

If you email Miranda will be there to answer your questions about the Centre.

Jennifer Ballantine  - Volunteer

Jennifer has lived in Wendover since 1964 and her children were educated locally. Jennifer has always been an active member of the local community. She has been a Parish Councillor for over 40 years and is currently Verger at St Marys. Jennifer has been  involved with WYC as a Trustee and now as a volunteer. She currently helps out at Youth Cafe.
