Decarbonisation information and community feedback survey request

Buckinghamshire Community Energy is a recently formed community energy group (Registered Number 8633) which is hoping to reduce Buckinghamshire’s carbon emissions to achieve Net Zero emissions as soon as possible by supporting the transition to renewable energy in community buildings in the county.

Working with Buckinghamshire Council and the managers and users of the buildings on the Wharf Road Campus in Wendover, we are investigating the potential for a renewable heat network and solar generation to provide heat and electricity sustainably and at a lower cost to the schools and community-operated buildings on Wharf Road in Wendover.

These include John Colet School, The John Hampden School, Wendover Junior School, Wendover Youth Centre, Wendover Memorial Hall, Wendover Swimming Pool and Little Acorns Pre-School.

This is an ambitious project which is currently in the Feasibility Stage of development. We are hoping that the local community will support it, because it will reduce Wendover’s and Buckinghamshire’s carbon footprint, save money for the organisations involved and hopefully provide inspiration for other schools and community buildings in the county to investigate decarbonising their energy use.

We are interested in understanding the views of the local community about this project, so please do take five minutes to fill out the survey on the link below and share your opinions on it. We are very grateful for your input.
